The project Emotion in Motio is an experimental exploration related to the possibility of emotion expression, which builds a universal system relied on the features of a characteristic creature called mycetozoa, to create a sonic mode for emotion communication

In this project, I want to create a universal language, that provides a way to connect people and communicate emotions. During the process of research, I noticed an unique medium mycetozoa - or slime mould.

Slime moulds contribute to a single interconnected system. In the ecosystem, they connect livings, they eat death to create life. They consist a natural interest - an information highway that allows livings to communicate and even send out danger signals to each others.

For the similarity of emotion and slime mould, both of them are not easy to notice though necessary to the society where they exist. Both of them works as a connection medium for their own system.

There are more than 900 species of slime mould occur globally. Based on previous research, I select Physarum polycephalum - a protist with diverse cellular forms and broad geographic distribution, to be the medium. It is more convenient to get and observe.

The consitions of growing environment mainly have influence on the shape, size and growing speed of slime moulds in the Plasmodium stage.

Therefore, there are space to operate slime mouls by keeping them stay in the Plasmodium stage, which can be realized by adjusting suitable temperature and humidity, provide enough food and limit light.

To make slime moulds own the qualification to be the medium of transmitting emotions, there are tests need to be ran to find out the relationship of these environmental variables and emotional variables.
