In my hometown, momentos and ceremonies of ages are strongly valued and deeply connected to the whole family, especially when a family member steps into the adulthood from his/her childhood. Apart from the family relationship, what interests me is how they see these changes as individual in term of the different experience each one gained from the process of growing up.
The Self_Portrait Collage is inspired by a photo of me shot by my father in May 28th, 2001. The original images of the collage were collected from booklets of museums, galleries, tourist spots, newspepars and maps during my solo backpack trip around Europe, which covered 20 cities in 13 countries and 50 days (I plant this trip as a gift of coming of age). The fragments of images and words collected at differnt time and various locations, representing parts of my personal memory and expeience when I explored the world. The connection of the two images acrossed fifteen years and now became an unique record and momento of my coming of age.
